Farmer Palmer’s Products Ltd - 01233 756609 - Graham and Miranda Palmer
We specialise in the production of quality beef, lamb and pork for local consumption.
The Aberdeen Angus breed produces marbled, succulent beef. Likewise, the Romney lamb, Kent’s native sheep, is held in high esteem around the world and the Berkshire and Saddleback pig produces pork second to none.
These breeds are ideally suited to our non-intensive farming practices. The entire farm consists of permanent pasture, much of which is managed under the Countryside Stewardship Scheme. This involves non-usage of artificial fertilisers and sprays, alongside the renovation and planting of hedgerows and substantial pond clearance. These practices encourage an increase in flora and fauna on the farm and in the surrounding environment.
Animal welfare is a priority. We believe in happy, healthy animals that have the freedom to behave naturally. No growth promoters or in feed antibiotics are used.
You can be confident that our produce is fully traceable and has low mileage from farm to plate.
We attend farmers’ markets in Horsmonden, Tunbridge Wells, Battle, Sandgate, Penshurst, Capel Le Ferne, Rolvenden, Egerton, Hythe and Headcorn.

We are fishmongers, based in Rye, East Sussex. We are a husband and a wife team. We have had a part in the local fishing community for many years and six and a half years ago we opened a fish mongers in Rye at 1, Rope Walk. It is a small shop, but we pride ourselves on sourcing excellent quality locally landed fish from Rye Bay.
We cook and dress our own dressed crabs which are very tasty. We also stock top quality Rye Bay scallops between November through to April, weather permitting and we are also included in the Rye Bay catch scheme which is set up for promoting Rye’s fine quality fish. Local fish being caught at the moment include wild sea bass, fresh turbot, brill, Dover soles, lemon sole, red mullet, sweet dabs, masses of mackerel and many more varieties. We have been attending farmers’ markets for only a few years now but have a good following. We can source any fish locally or any area of the UK which is Grade A for freshness. You can contact me for orders or other queries on the numbers above.

Stratta Vinegars and Pickles - 01323 732505 - John and Mary Stratton
Our sweet fruit vinegars are lovingly made in Sussex in small batches using the finest ingredients. Luscious soft fruits , sourced locally whenever possible, are steeped in white wine vinegar to extract the full flavour and colour. The resultant vibrant liquid is filtered and sweetened before bottling at high temperature. Such is Strata’s dedication to quality that 60mg of fruit offers up its soul in the cause of each 100ml of the glorious infusion. Raspberry, redcurrant, blackcurrant, black mulberry, strawberry and damson have been joined this summer by a trio of exotics - mango, lavender and elderflower.
Complementing the fabulous vinegars is a stunning range of infused EV olive oils. The oil is infused with local herbs and fine spices until the flavour builds to a peak, then filtered before being bottled. Flavours include rosemary, basil, tarragon, fennel seed, lemon, ‘aromatic‘, ‘thai‘, smoked garlic and two strengths of chilli - pleasantly warm and strikingly hot.
Sussex pears are spiced to complement your cheese board, organic lemons are preserved in sea salt for your North African dishes and organic oranges are spiced to enhance roasts, cold cuts and rich chocolate mousse.
